FAQ

My character's not a Ministry worker, can I still apply?
Absolutely. As long as there is a connection to which they can apply, all characters are welcome.

What are connections and how do they work?
Level 2 is a Ministry-centred game with a focus on the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, as such we'd like to encourage interactions within their group which will allow for easier plot opportunity and ensure that characters are not cut off from each other. This does not mean that we will limit our characters to only those working in this department or the Ministry as a whole. Instead, what we're asking for is our players to list wanted plot connection, such as family members, best friends, enemies, or generally any person or type of person they may interact with regularly.

What are the requirements to become an auror?
Training for aurors begins with acceptance into the Auror Training Programme at the Ministry of Magic. Candidates will require successful completion of at least five N.E.W.T.s with a score of Exceeds Expectations or higher. Acceptance into the programme is contingent upon N.E.W.T. marks, a clean criminal record and successful completion of a series of character and aptitude tests. Due to the nature of the position, only the best applicants with top marks will be accepted*. Five applicants will be accepted into the programme each September.

Aurors are paid quite well and start on a salary of six hundred and fifty Galleons a month.

* The admission requirements to become an Auror were relaxed immediately following the Second Wizarding War, as Minister for Magic and former Auror Kingsley Shacklebolt permitted any participant in the Battle of Hogwarts to begin Auror training if they were interested. All other applicants must adhere to the regular requirements.
